My Grandpa's funeral

We went to my grandpa's funeral on Oct. 2nd. and all went somewhat well. It was an amazing service. He was in the Air Force so he received a full military service. They did the gun salute, the presenting of the flag (which was so cool! and i was sitting right behind my grandma so i heard what they say too). the other neat thing is that my uncle found an aircraft cylinder to bury him in. It weighed 65 lbs. and the cemetery said it was the coolest thing they had ever seen as an urn. Then they bolted chains to it so the men could have something to hold on to to carry it in. Oh and we were also led in by percession. There were about 15 motorcycles that took us through town to the veterans cemetery. I will miss my grandpa greatly but i am so glad he was so honored all the way to the end. We love you grandpa Al!!

So the part that didn't go so well, is that an hour before the service chase grabbed my mom's straightening iron and it burned his hand so bad it actually stuck for a second. i ripped it off and threw it across the room. he burned each finger tip and some of his palm. it was hurting him so bad he was uncontrollably screaming the hole day. so Ryan didn't get to see the service. he walked chase in the stroller around the cemetery during the service. so once we got to my g-ma's house her friend sally said "oh i have some antibiotic burn cream, I'll go get it" with in 5 min. of putting it on he was back to his normal self. *mind you that was after asking all the fireman that were there (since my g-ma is a volunteer firefighter) if they had anything to treat burns. and they all said NO. What??!!! i thought for sure they would of had something. So no we are 2 weeks after that and all the blisters have popped and are healing. He continues to pick at the loose skin and it is just a little scary looking. i felt so bad for my little man.

anyways, here's a pic of the boys at my g'ma's w/ some model airplanes that were used for the tables that g-ma bangerter made and the rest are chase's hand. there was a photographer at the service so i will post those pics when we get them.

Cuddle Bunny

chase is so cute. we put the big kids to bed at 6:30 and then we play and spend time with chase until he goes to bed at 7:30. His new favorite thing to do is sit with ryan and snuggle while they watch football. if you change the channel or don't have the TV on he doesn't sit nearly as long. but when you put football on he gets a big smile and snuggles in tight. it is adorable. i have to say i am a little jealous because he definitely likes to cuddle with ryan more than me. but he still knows when he wants something to come to mama! :)

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!

Well, soccer season has begun! Ryan is coaching seth's team this year. They are so cute, it is all their first year playing and Ryan's first year coaching. So if the games overlap i have been taking chase with me to blake's and ryan and seth go to theirs. The practices are at the same time too, tues. and thurs. 5-6:15 at 2 different fields. But at least we are done with it at the same time i guess. I have some cute pics of the season already. I am proud of my boys and am hoping to not be the crazy soccer mom who screams on the side line. We'll see if tomorrow is better because i was screaming last week :0
btw....Blake's team is the Pirates! Seth's team is the Hot Rods '10!

Banana Bread

so i was making banana bread with seth on monday and all was well until...
i had my top cupboard door open and i bent down and stood up and hit the top of my head right on the sharp corner of the door (and our corners are SHARP!) and immediately fell to the floor. I could hear seth saying "what happened" over and over and over again! But i couldn't respond or even open my eyes. I guess i hit on just the right spot and got a HUGE bump like on the cartoons and immediately felt nauseous and horrible. But as the day went on i just got worse and worse and the next day i felt even worse. I could barely stay awake, couldn't move quickly, or even bend down with all the pressure i had on my head already it felt like it was going to explode! So i talked to my mom since she is a nurse, and she said that those are all classic signs of a concussion. So since i have busy boys and no time for anything else of course i didn't go to the doc but i am just trying to ride it out. Today i am doing a bit better i can actually focus (enough to write this) i am not in quite as much of a "fog" and have been able to get a few things done. Needless to say that was the most dangerous loaf of banana bread i have ever made!
And on a side note...i am a little worried that if i ever needed to have seth call 911 for me i would probably just die on the floor. when i finally came to, he was just standing there staring at me still saying "what happened".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY CHASE!!!

My sweet baby turned 1! It was a little sad but mostly exciting! The big boys were so excited that he is 1 now...now he can do so much more :)
We had a big birthday party last saturday for him, he LOVED the snow cone machine!!! He must of had at least 20 snow cones of his own, then if he saw ryan or i with one he would run over and want to be held, then ask for bites. It was so cute! **notice chase eating his birthday cake...his foot was holding the plate steady so he could grab handfulls of cake.
Then on his actuall b-day which was wednesday the 8th i made him an apple cinnamon muffin (his favorite) w/ frosting on top. He was so excited....so i did a little photo shoot with it.
I love chase so much....i am so grateful he is part of our family! He is always so happy, and easy going. He loves to be held, play peek-a-boo, play with balls, but most of all he is defiently a nature lover! He could go for walks all day long, either in the stroller or now that he is walking he loves to explore on his own too. If we leave the the sliding glass door open and have the screen shut he has learned how to open the screen on his own so he can go play out back. He really just loves playing in water or whatever he can get his hands on outside. He is defiently an observer too, from the first day he was born i noticed it. I would walk him around the hospital halls at 3:00 am to stretch my legs etc. after the c-sec and he would just perk right up, and watch the lights pass, look at the carts, doors, nurses anything he could. He loved it and still loves to just get out!
I love you Chase and i look forward to watching you grow and explore! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

BLAKE'S 6TH BIRTHDAY!!!!

Blake turned 6!!!! His birthday was last weekend August 28th. We had a big party here at the house and i let him make his own invite list and then he decided everything he wanted to have to eat. It was fun to do that with him now that he is getting to an age where he can (if i let him) make decisions on his own. It is really hard for me to let go a little with him since he is our first to start to grow up :(

Blake is an amazing child. He has such a sweet soul that amazes me each day. He is always there by my side when i am having a rough day and he is always there to run to get me a tissue and wipe my tears if i need it. I have never met such a person to be so in tune with another one's feelings and needs. I am so glad we have him as part of our family and i hope he continues to grow and bloom into a wonderful young boy/man (eventually).

Blake loves to do science experiments, ride his bike, swim, jump on the tramp and play with his brothers (mostly chase). He loves babies so he has definitely enjoyed this year having chase to cuddle and adore. I love blake so much and i am so glad that he had a wonderful 6th birthday! Happy Birthday Blake!!!
**Blake took cookies to school for his treat....they had his picture on it on edible paper (he was so excited)!

1st day of school

Well i am a little behind in my blogging so now i can do a combined post....Blake and Seth started school. Blake started first grade August 9th. He told me the first day "MOM, first grade is way easier than kindergarten! We don't have to do any worksheets!" all i could think was....just wait! It was so cute though. He has Ms. Lauck who seems like she will be a good teacher for him, she seems very structured which i am so it won't be a big change for him. We started doing a carpool this year with one of his friends from church and they are in the same class his name is Garreth. So i take them to school and his mom brings them home. The boys just love hanging together and it is so funny to see them interact at the is age....bouncing off the walls! They get so excited to see each other in the morning, it's fun. I was a little hesitant about starting the carpool since i have never done this before and i have a hard time letting go with my kids. I just want to hold on so tight and not let go, but i decided i have to sometime and why not now when it really will help me out having him dropped off so chase can just enjoy his nap. So now he has been in school for close to a month and is starting to feel a little tired. The homework and classwork has started and with it being full days now he is just trying to adjust. I think it should be a good year though.

Seth started pre-school on monday. He is going to fun factory at the sports complex in the afternoon just like blake did. We love the teacher Ms. Laurie and he already told me that he made a buddy at school. He has no idea what his name is just that he is his buddy and they like to play together. He was a little hesitant to go into class the first day but today's drop off went a little better. He has been having seperation issues lately so it is actually going alot better than i had anticipated. So i drop him off at 1:00 put chase down for his nap and on a good day will get about an hour and a half to get some stuff done around the house before blake get's home at 2:40. I always have a hard time sending them off to school but i have to say the quiet time is really nice.

So here are some pics of my cute school boys!
