craft central

i have been so busy! so i think i was a little crazy and thought this tax season i am going to take on some projects! well i can't just do 1 so i started 3 big projects not to mention all the little on going ones that never seem to end like editing pictures, printing them, posting on my blog (that's supposed to be my journal) and oh yeah house work :)

so i finished one project tonight am about 75% done on one and about 60% done on another so i thought i could do a little post now. I finished seth's birthday present today it's a book box. i made blake one for his 4th birthday and yes our poor middle child isn't getting is until his 5th birthday. but i am really happy with it. i found the chest at joanns and my sister in law gave ryan a coupon for it and we got it for a little under $30.00 not bad for a chest that was about $55.00 (thanks tory). so then i painted his name on the outside and lightning mcqueen on the inside so it will grow with him longer. i think he is going to love it!

so project #2 wasn't quite so easy. we have needed and wanted a new kitchen table for quite some time now. and when chase decided he didn't really want to sit in his high chair we figured it was time. especially since our last table really only sat 4 and one of the chairs was broken. so i found this table on craigs list for pretty cheap and it came with 4 chairs and a bench (i have always wanted a bench) and a leaf for the table so it can seat up to 8 or a little more. so another dream of mine was to have a white table so i thought i can paint it and have a little of the dark show through like a rustic country kind of look. it's hard to see in the pics but i think it looks pretty good. and my 3rd project is another quilt, quilt #2. this one is for a special person for a special day so i can't post any pics or any more info until it happens. i don't want my suprise to get out :)

well, needless to say I'VE BEEN BUSY!!! and i have to say i'm getting a little burnt out, but i've go to keep going! oh and while doing all this i started a diet. figured i could go all tax season and hopefully hit my goal. i'm down 11 pounds and fitting into to my old skinny clothes so i'm feeling good about that!

my first quilt!

so i decided i was going to make a "real" quilt. i have been making rag quilts for quite some time now and am just tired of the squares. so a lady in my ward (chris greenall) was going to do a quilt class in her home but it was right during tax season. so she said she would just answer my questions as i had them. she just happens to be the mom to one of her girls that cleans my house, and the other daughter is giving blake FREE guitar lessons since he is her first student. so it just worked out great that when blake was learning guitar i could ask her a few questions while i was there. so i decided i would research online and then get going. so i got some fabric for a quilt to give to mike and maria since they didn't come here for christmas we still had all their gifts. so it was perfect. so it took me probably about 2 weeks about 3+ hours almost every night but i completed it! and i love it! i already have fabric for 2 more quilts. it is a nice was to get my mind off things and it's perfect because i can't eat and quilt so it's like a diet too. :)

The rest of our Christmas!

Well i guess christmas is over. It came and went so fast this year. But we had another great christmas and we just can't believe how blessed we are. We have 3 amazing boys a beautiful house, food in our tummies, cars we can drive and so much more to be thankful for too. We may of had our trials these last few years but we are truly grateful for everything we have and we are especially grateful to have the gospel in our lifes to help us through our days!

This year for christmas santa brought blake a electric rock guitar, seth a real drum set and chase a huge floor piano. They loved all the gifts so much (and mom and dad were loving the advil) :) This was the first year that we had to pull them away from there santa gifts to get them to open all the other gifts. The love their instruments!
Anyways, we had a good morning at home then went to the elmer's for the afternoon. We enjoyed having dad off work that week and just tried to spend some quality time together. We went to the train museum and the snow. The older boys were obsessed with the snow they didn't want to leave! and chase did not like it at all, which suprised me since he is obsessed with being outside. he had more fun waiting in the warm car with grandma bangerter.
So here's to a new year hopefully we can have an even better year than last!
